Hi: Latest SIGACT had these two letters.  They're talking about a few
of  the things  that  SUPER LISP  addresses itself  to.  (COmpare the
Douglas quote with that  of Wegner in  S.L. manuscript, page 1.)  The
Reeker letter  is better  than Wand's,  but it  IS comforting  to see
someone else  becoming aware of the same things I've been complaining
about. 

I don't consider Super LISP to be particularly "theoretical" so it is
a bit strange to see SIGACT espousing these ideas. I don't think they
go far  enough. They  don't  expect to  tie  their "theory"  up  with
"practice"...THAT's the benefit of using LISP all the way through.
